Northern Lights in Sweden
A hotel built of ice and snow, would be the obvious answer. The first and the largest in the world, someone might add.
The ICEHOTEL idea stems from where it is located: Jukkasjarvi. A combination of the cold arctic climate, the river Torne, which flows outside its buildings, the Northern Lights and the Midnight Sun have been the inspiration behind the unique experiences that the ICEHOTEL offers.
Besides being a hotel that is built each winter, the ICEHOTEL is an ephemeral art project that cultivates the many flavours of Swedish Lapland.
ICEHOTEL opens in several stages. The first stage is completed December 10th and each week thereafter a new section is opened. The Main Hall and a handful of Snow rooms are opened on December 10th, the ABSOLUT ICEBAR opens December 12th and the Ice Church is completed on December 23rd. More suites and rooms become available every week until December 30th when the construction of ICEHOTEL is complete.

Located in a small village with about 1,000 inhabitants in Sweden, ICEHOTEL is 200 km above the Arctic Circle.
ICEHOTEL, Marknadsvägen 63, 981 91 Jukkasjärvi, SWEDEN
Many roads lead to ICEHOTEL. Although ICEHOTEL does not offer any transport (except for transfer) here is some good advice
on how to get there. ICEHOTEL is located in the small village Jukkasjärvi, 200 km above the Arctic Circle but only 15 km from
Kiruna Airport (KRN) and 17 km from Kiruna train station.
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Norwegian offers almost daily flights to Kiruna and the Swedish train company SJ
has daily departures that will take you all the way to the ski slopes in Swedish Lapland.
